I know I have not been blogging for close to 2 weeks now....
Sometime, its kind of lame to keep putting up entries on complaints and all the negative shit here.... Especially things that happens in office.... A very sensitive issue..
Neither do I want to capture my frustrations on how H1N1 is managed in my work place and how it had inadvertently affected both my travel plans in July and Aug...
So I won't go down that line now.....
In the recent weeks, I've grown to love my Facebook all over again...
Maybe it is the interactiveness, and the kay-pohness to 'look into' the lives of the people that are my 'friends'....
At times, they will drop me a line or 2. Or like what I did, I took a dig at someone for his atrocious expression of English in his 'shoutbox'....
Normally, I would not be so mean, but this chap always thinks that his england is so right and so correct, most times out of pride, refused to be corrected.
Honestly, its non of my business if you like to be made a fool all the time, but I was just bored that day....
Did I said bored...?
Yes, my major projects for Q2 has been delivered. Feedbacks were good, trainees love it, my bosses like it... period.
Now I'm back to my routine programming... and looking forward to cover duties for my colleagues when needed...
Back to recent events.... Transformer 2, the big movie event that I was waiting for...
Saw it on the opening nite last week on the 24th. Almost could not get into the Plaza Sing, carpark was so damn full !....
Sat 2 on the 2nd row from screen... Everything was super big and in your face !! Can even see the pore marks on Sam !!!
Was a free event organised by the company, due to communication problems, we (our dept) almost sat on the front row !.... Anyways, that was their (HR) first movie event, hope they can get their act together the next time... Allow free seating, first come first serve....
It was a great show, great entertainment, great robot wars and hot babes... I cannot understand why ST, 8Days and that 938 DJ all slammed that show.... Probably all of them have not childhood.... Or its just a marketing ploy.... More slams, more attention, more people will watch?... I don't know what's in the movie critics' mind...
So last nite, yes , on Sunday nite, I took Cleo for Transformer 2 at GV Jurong Point. Great seats this time, 2nd from the back. Though I don't get to have Mikeala's boobs staring into my face all the time like the first, we had a great time !!!....
I'm not bored, no over-dose for 2 runs in a week !!! Its just that great an entertainment !!!
Eh !?!?!... Why am I bloggin now?....
12 years ago today.... I was at my best, so was Cleo in her finest wedding gown.....
We are taking a day's leave to chill out .... its our 12th Wedding Anniversary today !
(2 days shy of Hong Kong's Hand-over, same year in 1997... I got handed over first...)

Things you need to know about Chinese and Indian movies
Things You Need to Know About Chinese Swordsman Movies
1. Being the hero's parents will always be unlucky and will usually be killed by enemies when the hero is young, and the hero will become an orphan.
2. When a man is wounded and dying, he always manage to catch his breath and speak a few sentences to reveal the killer before dropping his head and declared dead.
3. Skilled people are able to fly over roof tops, up trees and across distances without any sweat. But when travelling to towns and villages, they still have to walk or ride horses.
4. The heroes need not have to work for money, but will always havegold and silvers with them to pay for their dishes.
5. The heroes and villains will meet each other very often no matter how big the country is and no matter where they are.
6. Healing internal wounds in the body is as easy as sitting downcross-legged, palms on the knees and smoke coming out from the head.
7. They can keep a lot of stuff in their sleeves and waistband and never drop them (carrying especially lots of those gold and silver ingots)
Things You Would Never Know Without Indian Movies
1. A man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious beatingbut will wince when a woman tries to cleanse his wounds.
2. The hero cannot fall in love with the heroine (vice versa) unless they first perform a dance number in the rain.
3. Once applied, make-up is permanent, in rain or in any other situation.
4. Two lovers can be dancing in the field and out of nowhere, 100people will appear from god-knows-where and join them in the dance.
5. In the final scene, the hero will discover that the bad guy who he is up against is actually his brother and the maid who looked after him is his mother and the chief inspector is his father and the Judge is his uncle and so forth.
6. Key English words used in the movie (usually said out loud between sentences) are No Problem!, My God!, Get Out!, Shut-up!,Impossible!, Please forgive me!
7. They drop down on the ground and roll and roll while singing andcome out with different clothing.
8. They can run around the coconut trees, singing, batting eyes-lid, and throwing glances at each other and change clothes all at the same time without being out of breath.

Day 1 of Ext. Class
Had a great day at the external course today !!
We talked about 'initiatives & enterprise'....
First murmur before the class started was...."Why send us for this course?... We no initiative and not enterprising enough is it?...."
Instead of an academic lesson, the trainer was able to lead the 15 of us to think, explore the finer points of being proactive in our work environment and personal lives.... We had games, brain teasers, discussions, presentations, etc.
As both ET and I are trainers, we felt the trainer did a good job !! At least we as trainer did not fall asleep... The subject was well covered and executed.
Though some the pointers shared are 'given' as its already part of my life now, to be able to see it in a structured and formalise manner is good.
I'm looking forward to Fri, the 2nd part already !!!..

A Good Week Ahead !
For the 1st time, I'll be send for a 2 day course this week, on Wed and Fri....
ET & I will be attending this course together. Though I find the subject not totally relevant to my line of work now, moving out for courses is a good break from the enclosed office environment.
This weekend, I've actually planned for a Dayang dive with Nancy, but she could not get a Sunday School replacement. So its no go till July....
With that, I can look forward to the IT fair this weekend, starting Thurs..... GREAT !!!
It's JD's 1 year with us today !!!

The Numbers Are Rising...
Since my last entry, it's the 15th now....
Cleo's boss is ok, she is ok... So the coast is clear...
Honestly, to Cleo and I, its not the case of getting it or dieing from it. We know with early and proper detection, there is cure. But it is the trouble of getting other innocent people infected as well if we are not careful.
For me, I cross path with so many people in an enclose environment everyday... Its my job, my life. If my recklessness and care-less attitude towards the spread of H1N1, I may have cause the lives of people whose immune system may be too weak to fight the virus, and as a result dieing from it... I cannot live with that, period.
Who are we to say that things like that won't happen?...
It is exactly this kind of American attitude that has created so much unnecessary trouble and inconvenience for the people around the world. They just don't give a shit about it? Laughing it off lightly .... Gambling with the possibility of contracting it....
When things like these happen to other countries, like SARS in Asia, they will raise their frontline defense and bar people from infected countries from entering.... As though there is a alien invasion... And they'll start shouting and making noise, condemning others of exporting the virus and contaminating their soil....
And they are now happily exporting H1N1 and what are they doing about it at home?...
Just count the number of exported cases from New York....sigh...
Si bei boh-chap... KNS !!!
I am not a pessimist, but I've lived and experienced how SARS had affected the lives of many here.... I've also experienced how ang-mohs treated us Asians when I was in Rome not long after the SARS episode.... The porters and the concierge wore complete surgical attire when handling us and our luggage..... We were treated like bio-hazards then....
Anyways, we now have the first non-exported case, the 15th. Contracted from a direct exported case, I think communal spread is only a matter of time....
Lets wait and see.....

Number 10th.....
Shit !!!!!...... Damn !!!
The 10th and 11th patients were on the same flight as the 7th confirmed case, a 30-year-old Australian male tourist who was seated at row 54 on Singapore Airlines SQ25, which arrived in Singapore from New York via Frankfurt at 06:18 hours on June 1.
The 10th patient is a 33-year-old Singaporean woman who took a taxi to Tan Tock Seng Hospital after developing symptoms. She was in New York from May 23-30 and was seated at row 19 on SQ25. She was admitted to the Communicable Disease Centre 2 (CDC2) at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) before midnight on June 2.
The 11th patient is an 18-year-old American woman. She was seated at row 57 on SQ25. She developed symptoms in the afternoon of June 2, took a taxi with her relative to seek medical attention at Raffles Hospital's Emergency Department in the evening and was sent to CDC, TTSH via a 993 ambulance. She was admitted to CDC2 in the early hours of June 3.
Contact tracing has been initiated for the 10th and 11th confirmed cases. Passengers seated within rows 17 to 21 and 57 to 59 on SQ25 on June 1 who have not been contacted by MOH yet should call the MOH hotline at 1800-333-9999.
Cleo's boss was on the same flight !!!! He was seated 2 rows away from patient 10....
He was back in office on Tue, the 2nd... sneezed a little... Cleo was in the same office...
So what's gonna happen next??? If he kenna, that means Cleo and I will be stuck at home for 7 days....???
Wah lan eh !!!!

Just another day at the office....
No appraisal today...everyone was busy....
The new class, more surprises today....
One trainee came in unannounced, citing that his Director and manager gave him the go ahead to appear in class first and sort out the admin part later.... win already lor....
Another, the manager decided to push his FP in despite the night before, wanted to pull his FP out. So I was taking the call from this manager first thing in the morning, just so that she gets her FP gets in on time ..... So indecisive...
When class ended, I got 2 FPs coming forward to tell me they may have problem halfway through the 12 weeks, cos they will be studying fulltime and risk missing future class, which would result in a termination of their contract with us..... "What you want me to do?... Close 2 eyes ??...."
What was supposed to be a rather relaxing afternoon, I ended up working and refining the class list once more .....
Later part of the day was spend scheduling manager's duty for the next 11 weeks... and taking tonnes of other distractions.... discussing dept schedules and off-site training, and preparing for tomorrow's manager's make-up training and whatnot... Loads of schedulling and planning work....
But I firmly believe I've past the peak for the 1st half of 09 ....
I was so very relieved that during lunch, I had a plate of duck rice, a bowl of kway-chap and a strong of kopi-gao.... Somehow my shoulders was lighter after lunch today...

Time Flies....
A new day in June came and went....
I did one of the most exhausting class to date.... one of the least participative class... There were groups or cliques that simply boh-chap during the group exercise... Its the last of the CCP1 classes...
I told them off in their face during the exercise..... its their choice, its adult learning. If you all chose to do the discussion in psychic mind reading mode, without any discussion or engagement, its your choice... You input nothing, you get nothing, you walk off nothing, period !
2 clowns just fell asleep blatantly... I walked up to them..... blew my warm bad breath into their faces... One woke up stunned.... He quickly wake the other up.... He too was too stunned to react.... From then on, they were just too embarrass to sleep anymore... In front of everybody, I told them to go wash their face so they can fight the ZZZ-monster better...
I've done close to 13 classes for advisers and 3 for managers during the last 1.5 months.... super steam man !!.... 2 more make-up classes to go....
Most of all, I've finalized the names of the new FPA class... I almost died sorting it out since last Fri. Went back on Sat to work on it.... It was only Mon evening that it was finalized ...
Tomorrow this new class will start... it will last for another 12 weeks....
Another cohort will reach their week 12 on Wed.... how time flies...
And tomorrow will be my appraisal..... how time flies....

Great Way to End May...
For the whole of May, I logged only 15 entries. Many of which were videos and craps I posted because I was really really very worked up or too busy to write...
From this month on, my schedule looks like I'll have more breathing space.... That means I'm back to my other regular stuffs like tidying up and juicing up all my pet programs...
'Great way' to end May:
Last Fri, we had a divisional outing when everyone in the division get to go off after 3.30pm for some good old get-together-and-have-some-fun-thingey...
ET and I got stucked in office till after 6pm.... For me, I had to finish the class and send out some graphics for a AD.... With the freaking slow networks and low RAM on my station was not very helpful....
Doing the ending for that class has always been a challenge, cos I have to decide who gets to graduate and move on to the next level, who has to do make-up and so ....before the class ends... Without my colleagues like JK, CL and AL, its no joke !!! The latter has gone to the party while the former 2 was on leave....
By the time ET and I ran out of office, it way past 6.30pm, just nice for the evening peak traffic....
I was very tired, hungry and my mind was not thinking straight...
ET too had a long day, and she was having a tiff with her hubby, that did not help much with the mood while we drove to Bt Batok...
I was thinking of CDAN throughout the drive.... but it was Civil Service Club..... sigh...
Then came a call....... someone got arrowed to buy beer and cigar...
He conveniently diverted the arrow to me while I was busy negotiating the slow and frustrating traffic in Bt Batok.... looking out for those L plate drivers from BBDC, hogging the roads....
I cannot react in time... but I took his 'orders' and cracked my head trying to look for those Asahi Beers .... I knew who placed those orders ..... I could hear in the background....
I kept telling myself... its at CDAN and its out of the way, so I obliged.....
Then again, the devil in me told me why should I oblige while he was trying to rub shoulders with the chiefs, trying to score brownie points, got arrowed and then he diverted it to me?...
Why should I help him?... He was there since 4pm ?... Had games and was already eating and having a good time?....
ET and I was very hungry, tired and frustrated with the traffic and he can't show any empathy and understanding?... GOSH !! Why can't he drive out to buy?...
My mind spinned to the latter..... I got real mad and pissed....
Like the way I was brought up, I do first and question later.... I got the beer, but not the cigars...
Headed to CDAN..... only when we were there, that I found out to my anger, we were in the wrong club. But ET has been trying to tell me, but I was not listening.... cos I was already boiling within... Neither have she been to any of the 2 clubs before....so she too thought we were at the right place...
From there, I headed to CSC..... dashed a couple of red lights.... in record timing !
I told myself what I wanted to say when I see him..... And I did...
First thing when he saw me, he tried to apologize but I gave it to him point blank!
It was way past 8pm..... A hungry man is a angry man !
Then my chief saw me, I said 'hello' to him and to the other presidents too... trying hard to put on a plastic smile.... But my face spells it all.... I am pissed ! ...And I don't care ! I dumped the beers and walked off to another group...
Its CSC and West Mall is just opposite, you drive and you get the arrow for trying to rub shoulders with the big boys, you should take it.... don't delegate downwards to me !
I must say I wanted to walked off the party after 10mins, I was in no mood to eat or drink then.... But both my bosses came looking for me moments later .... they knew what happened...
For them, I stayed on, just so the whole group looked good and intact..... I expressed to them my unhappiness...
True to what another colleague has mentioned while we drove, my chief was waiting for the both of us to arrive before he gave his speech.... For that, I appreciate his kindness and understanding... He thanked me in his speech for helping to bring 2 dozens of beer for the party...
I downed a few cans of beer to cool things downs but was to tired to eat much thereafter...
I have learned to be wiser next time ......
